Many Voices, One Nation Exhibit and Book

This new permanent exhibition opened at the National Museum of American History in July 2017. The 6,500 square foot gallery features hundreds of objects and stories that encompass more than 500 years of history and the global footprint of the United States of America.

In the associated publication, Many Voices, One Nation: Material Cultural Reflections on Race and Migration in the United States, 19 scholars provide a closer look at some of the objects, people, and themes in these shared stories.

As a curator on the exhibition, I developed content and design for the gallery. I also co-edited the book, selecting contributors and objects, developmentally editing essays, and co-authoring the Introduction and an additional essay.
